Информация о радио
WXVU-FM went on the air in 1991 when the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted an educational license to Villanova University. Previously the station operated on carrier current, and could only be heard in selected buildings on campus. In 1992 the University constructed new studios in Dougherty Hall which allowed us to convert to FM stereo. Because space on the FM dial is limited in a crowded market like Piladelphia, we share our frequency with Cabrini College. Both institutions benefit from an educational radio station. WXVU-FM broadcasts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturday and Sundays until 12:00pm. Cabrini’s station, WYBF-FM, broadcasts on 89.1-FM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays after 12:00pm.
The primary purpose of WXVU is to serve as a broadcast service providing information and entertainment programming designed to meet the public interest of the University and surrounding community. WXVU is responsible to the Board of Trustees of Villanova University for the day-to-day operation of the broadcast facility and to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for compliance with all laws, rules and regulations pursuant to the operation of the station.
Our goal is to provide programming to the campus and the community in a professional manner, as our image directly affects the image of the University.
